Under the republican constitution adopted in 1975, a Prime Minister and a cabinet of 300 members elected to a 4-year term govern Greece. The president, whose duties are largely ceremonial, is chosen for a 5-year term. The country is divided into 13 regions each subdivided into 51 nomoi.
