Rates
The tour price could changes according to: The number
of countries visited Duration of the tours Departure
date Airline routing and number of stops Level of accommodations
Group size Host benefits What is included and not included
in the tour package
Number of countries
visited The best group rate is when touring includes
only one country. An optional extension tour can be
offered to members of your group who wish to visit additional
countries.
Duration
of the tour Each day of touring has a certain cost.
A full day tour with a bus and guide is more economical
than 2 half days. Free days are often welcomed and allow
time for resting, shopping or spending important time
at prayer, while still benefiting from the reduced tour
cost. Optional tours at an additional cost can be offered
on free days.
Kinds of tours
available An optional tour is the opportunity
to have additional sightseeing when you have leisure
time or a free day. An extension is an addition to your
basic tour. For example if your tour is a 15 day tour
you may add an additional 7 days to the basic tour provided
you have a minimum of 15 passengers traveling together
in a predetermined itinerary. A deviation from tour
occurs when a passenger requests: (1) to leave the tour
within its progress, or (2) to be ticketed as an individual
(e.g. earlier or later return, not with the group).
We urge you to discourage deviations. Remember no group
travel situation will ever meet all individual desires.
After all, your passengers are taking advantage of the
economies that are possible through group travel – and
deviations defeat the whole purpose: they are expensive.
Departure date
The departure date will affect the price of the tour.
The rate increases from low to high season. November
- February (except Christmas) is low season. March -
June (except Easter/Passover) and September - October
(except Jewish holidays) is shoulder season. July -
September is high season on airline rates.
Air fare
Group air fares vary according to departure date, routing,
number of countries, and the number of stops. The best
rate is when only one carrier is used. All group members
must fly together, although some may be allowed to deviate
on the return at an additional cost.
Level of accommodations
Hotels in Europe and the Mediterranean have smaller
rooms, bathrooms and different bed sizes than North
American hotels. Sunworld Tours hotel classifications
are; Standard, Moderate and Superior. In our proposal
to you, we mention the names of hotels and the hotel
classification. Please note that the tour cost is based
on two people in a room. If a passenger wishes a single
room a surcharge is required. We will do our best to
supply your group with the best available hotels within
your price range.
Group size
The rate of a tour changes according to the number of
paying people on the tour, the larger your group the
lower the rate. A minimum of 15 full paying passengers
is required to be considered a group.
Host benefits
You have all the flexibility to meet your needs for
free trips and the same time to control the selling
price. Please advise number of passengers and free tours
for the host leader. All tour companies calculate into
the tour price the free tours for the tour leader. Please
note that the more attractive the price the easier it
will be to gather a big group.
Included in
the tour price The tour price staes what will
be included in the tour such as; hotels, guided tours,
entrance fees, taxes, etc. We suggest that you include
two meals daily; breakfast and dinner. Dinner usually
consists of 3 to 4 courses and does not include beverages.

Tips
Tipping will vary depending on the individual tour.
Usually one is expected to tip anyone who performs special
individual services for you such as headwaiters, bus
drivers, sightseeing guides, etc. Standard tipping is
approximately $7.00 US per day. On cruises normal tipping
is about $10.00 US per day.
Final price
on the brochure The final price printed on the
brochure is up to you. You have the option to include
all extras to the base price such as; airport departure
taxes, border taxes tips etc, or you can keep these
items under the not included section of the brochure.
Airport taxes have to be prepaid.
Child Rate Some
fares have a certain percent reduction for children
between the age of 2 and up to the age of 11 by the
date of departure. A child must leave and return prior
to his twelfth birthday to qualify. However, not all
fares have this provision.
Triple Rate Triple rooms are also
available to help eliminate the need for a single room.
Rates
are subject to change We hope not to change the tour
prices after you booked passengers. However, our prices
are based on current airline and hotel rates, and occasionally
these rates do change. If and when this occurs, we are
forced to adjust your tour prices accordingly. This
should happen only very rarely. We do specify on each
brochure that we reserve the right to increase the tour
price due to currency increases.
PROMOTION
Identify the key benefits of travel to the Holy Land
for your ministry Make announcements. Invite everyone.
Distribute your personal brochure. Seek local media
coverage. Don't forget the individual approach. Ask
for a commitment to go. Hold Israel orientation meetings.
Make small group presentations. Announce everyone who
joins. Contact a wider circle of prospects. Write letters
to tour group members and prospects. Enlist help from
other popular leaders in exchange for a free trip for
them actually, the most important factor in the success
of your tour is your own firm decision that you are
going to Israel. Once you have taken this step of faith
yourself, the rest is easy. Provide detailed information
about the tour. Assist tour members with individual
questions or problems, and provide spiritual guidance.
Brochure
A personalized brochure is printed for each tour leader
free of charge. This personal brochure is a useful promoting
tool. It shows the itinerary, the sites visited on the
tour, the tour booking procedures, the conditions and
the tour price.
Announcement
We suggest that you allow yourself at least six to nine
months to organize the tour. A longer period is even
better, since you need ample time to promote your tour
and solicit guests. Begin by announcing the expected
tour and dates of travel. A successful key to building
your group is to BEGIN EARLY!
Informative
presentations Shortly following the announcement
of the upcoming tour, you may want to plan to invite
church members once a month to have tea & coffee and
show them videos on the countries you are visiting.
Promotional
materials The Government Tourist office of the
countries you are visiting will provide you with free
posters, maps, and other promotional material. Greek

TRAVEL TIPS
Money Israel's
basic unit of currency is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS).
All major credit cards are recognized in Israel. It
is best to bring some American money, preferably in
small bills. Also bring some CAD or USD money in travelerÕs
cheques . Upon arrival in Israel, exchange your money
to Israeli Shekel. It is also easy to use a card to
get Israeli money from a cash machine.
Extra Money
Almost everything is included in your tour package but
you will need extra money for lunches, souvenirs, and
any optional tours on your free day, and personal expenses.
Although we recommend that you take your Canadian or
U.S. currency in travelerÕs checks, the banks and exchange
facilities in Israel will not give you Canadian or U.S.
dollars in return. Any leftover currency can be exchanged
at the international airport exchange bank.
Phone on the
tour The telephone companies have a service called
"Canada Direct" that connects you to a Canadian telephone
operator. It is best to use a public phone, as most
hotels charge a high service fee for using the phone
from your room. You will find a Canada Direct card in
your package. For current numbers call 1-800-561-8868
before leaving Canada. Do not put calls on a credit
card other than a phone credit card as you may find
a high bill when you get home. The safest way to use
long distance is to buy a prepaid phone card in Israel.
How to contact
you on the tour Travellers should leave copies
of their itinerary at home. The itinerary will contain
a list of our offices in each country, along with addresses,
fax and telephone numbers.
Folklore Show
The Israeli Folklore Evening, a show of song and dance,
will be performed during your stay. Tickets for this
entertainment can be purchased in Jerusalem from your
tour guide.
Weather
The weather in Israel is pleasant. The nights and evenings,
especially in hilly areas can be chilly. The winter
months are also considered to be Israel's rainy season.
Electric Current
The Electric Current overseas is 220 Volts; 50 Hertz
in Europe and Middle East. Adapter kits that include
the entire range of plugs can be obtained at better
electrical supply stores.
Camera/ Valuable
Items Take plenty of Film and batteries, it is
usually more expensive overseas and not always convenient
to obtain. Pack your film in your hand luggage and check
with security personnel if the x-rays will damage your
film. You will be given ample time to photograph scenery
and points of interest on the tour, so please do not
delay the group by continuing to take photos. Do not
take any valuable items with you. Make sure to register
valuable items such as cameras, videos, and jewellery
at the customs office before leaving the country to
avoid re-entry problems.
Value Added
Tax Refunds In Israel a "Value Added" tax (VAT)
is much like our sales tax. The VAT is charged on all
items purchased. As a tourist, you can recover this
tax if; your purchases in one store exceed a specific
amount of $50 USD. You receive from the store a Tax
Refund form. You present the filled up forms at the
airport before leaving the country to refund your tax.
Customs Regulation
Before leaving the country please check the duty free
purchases allowed.
Packing Tips
Travel light.
Pack items which you find are comfortable and adjusted
to the length of the tour
Take clothes that allow you to mix and match.
Pack for lightweight, easy to care for, hand washable
clothes that do not wrinkle and can be worn in layers.
Dress sporty for the day and smart casual for the evening.
For men, take along a lightweight suit or jacket, slacks,
shorts and shirts.
For women, take slacks skirts. Casual dress is fine.
Might want to dress up a little for Sabbath dinner.
A light coat, jacket or sweater is suitable for cool
evenings.
Bring your swimsuit and beachwear. Take along some comfortable
walking shoes, sandals and dress shoes.
YouÕll need a folding umbrella and raincoat as well
as toiletries, first aid kit and insect repellent.
Bring along some writing material such as a pen, notebook
and an address book.
In holy sites, please remember to dress appropriately.
(No shorts or sleeveless blouses.)
Bible Comfortable walking shoes do not leave home without
them.
Travel Tips
Please wear your Name badge at all times.
Make sure that your home is safe before you go away.
Leave a photocopy of your tour itinerary, contact information
and hotel list with a relative to contact you quickly.
Photocopy all your documents; passport, driverÕs license,
birth certificate visas, airline tickets, credit cards,
travelerÕs cheques, drug prescriptions and other important
documents. Carry these items with you at all times and
keep them in a secure place like secret pockets, a money
belt or a hotel safe. Keep the copies in a place separate
from the originals.
Do not pack your passport, it should be carried with
you at all times.
Keep your personal valuables in the hotel safety deposit
box.
Use your Canada Direct number to phone home and call
from public phones.
Pack a change of clothing in your hand luggage in case
your suitcase is delayed.
Avoid drinking tap water.
Ask your hotel clerk to give you a hotel business card
with their name and address on it and keep the card
with you all the times.
Familiarize yourself with your destination.
Find out local customs and respect them.
LEADING THE GROUP
Airline Tickets
/Checking In At the airport gather your group
together and have them wait in a comfortable area. Go
to the airline ticket counter and inform the check-in
personnel that your group has arrived. Phone the airline
before you leave home to confirm the domestic flight
times from your home city to the international gateway
city (if applicable). Your International airline tickets
will be forwarded directly to you or to your group members.
International boarding passes will only be issued when
you check in with your luggage and present your airline
and passport. Transfers between airline terminals can
be quite confusing. Please check with the airline which
terminals you are going to use on your specific flights.
Your international flight from Toronto /New York to
Tel Aviv will take and estimated 11 hours. You will
be served dinner on the plane, but you should try to
get some sleep immediately thereafter. Because of the
change of time zones (Israel is 7 hours ahead) and the
speed at which you are flying, you will have only a
few hours with the lights out. Shortly after daylight,
a light breakfast will be served. During the flight,
you will receive a landing card. Fill in the necessary
information and place this card with your passport,
as you will need to clear Passport Control. Please retain
the duplicate copy of this card, as you will surrender
it upon departing the country.
Special Requests
Requests such as specific airline seating, special diets,
etc. are willingly accepted and passed on to the suppliers
involved. There is no guarantee that these services
will be provided by the suppliers. Sunworld Tours requests
non-smoking seats for all passengers.
Name Badges
Please ask your group members to wear their name tags
at all times. Be certain to have the tag on when arriving
in Israel. This will assist you in getting acquainted
with your traveling companions and will facilitate the
group's passage through various custom and site points.
Luggage and
Luggage Tags Due to limited motor coach capacity,
we recommend that tour members carry only one suitcase
plus one carry on flight bag. Place your Sunworld Tours
group Luggage Tag on your suitcase with your name; address
and telephone number to make your Luggage distinguishable
from others. Remove all old airlines tags not related
to your immediate travel. If you have the International
ticket with you and you are flying the same airline
from your home city to Israel, you may check your luggage
all the way through. However, if you are flying to an
airport where you will meet the international flight,
it will be necessary for you to claim your luggage from
the domestic airline and check it in again at the ticket
counter of the international flight. Each passenger
must individually go through the security check, accompanied
by his or her own luggage. Upon arrival in Israel, you
will proceed through Passport Control and go directly
to the luggage claim area. Our representatives will
be on hand to assist you. Please take a cart and retrieve
your luggage from the carousel. Do not leave the luggage
area until instructed by our staff. If your luggage
has been lost or damaged, you must complete an official
report before leaving the luggage area. Our representative
will assist you in completing the necessary forms.
Meeting your
representatives On your final itinerary you will
find the name, address, phone and fax number of our
offices in each country you will be visiting. Upon arrival
you'll be greeted and assisted by our representative
who will direct the group through customs and on to
the bus. Give the office or the guide all of the airline
tickets to re-confirm the group for their next flight
and to obtain boarding passes.
The guide
The guide will meet your group upon arrival and handle
all the arrangements. The guide is English-speaking,
and government-licensed and will accompany your group
throughout its stay in Israel. Your guide will not only
lead your tour of historic sites, but will also help
with all arrangements and with any problem that may
arise. You are free to relax and enjoy leading the spiritual
aspects of your tourŃteaching from the Bible, conducting
worship services, and any other ministry events you
may desire! Before you start the sightseeing program
each day, meet your guide and discuss the itinerary
and any special needs.
The bus When
instructed, please pass through the customs area and
through the doors. Your bus and your guide will be waiting
in the group area. Your driver will place your large
bag in the luggage compartment and you may board the
bus with your carry-on bag. The bus is a deluxe, air-conditioned
tourist bus and provides luxury and comfort for passengers.
Smoking is not permitted on the bus to ensure the comfort
of all passengers. Remember you are traveling as a group
and should consider the comfort and well being of the
entire group at all times. If you are late getting on
the bus everyone loses valuable time. It is important
to always be on time for bus departures. To give everyone
a variety of views it is customary to have a daily seating
rotation.
Safety on the
Tour Israel is a very security minded nation.
It may become necessary to change a portion of the itinerary
for security reasons, in which case Sunworld Tours will
substitute other sites of interest. Merchants and peddlers
may sometimes appear in the lobby of your hotel after
dinner. They may offer to drive you to their shops in
the Old City or in Bethlehem. As in any major city,
we advise that you refuse their offers and travel with
discretion at night. If you have to be absent from a
day of touring for any reason, please notify your tour
leader or the guide as soon as possible.
Hotels
When checking into hotels, be sure that the rooms are
distributed in accordance with the rooming list in your
possession. Ask the front desk in the hotel for a list
of the room numbers of the group in case you need to
contact anyone. Hotel names and addresses are included
in your final documents. During the tour you will stay
with your group members in the same hotel. All rooms
have air conditioning, radio, direct dial telephone,
and a private bathroom with tub/shower. Towels and soap
are provided, but in many cases washcloths are not.
It would be wise to bring a few with you. Each of the
group members should settle any personal charges (such
as laundry, telephone, etc.) directly with the hotel
the night before they check out. This way you will not
hold up the group at the last moment.
Meals
An Israeli buffet breakfast and a four-course set menu
dinner are included daily in your tour. Beverages are
not generally included with the meal, except for coffee,
tea, or tap water. If you order beverages such as bottled
water or carbonated drinks, you will be charged for
them. Please settle for these extras before you leave
the dining room. Lunches are not included, but may be
purchased anywhere from $6.00 to $12.00 depending on
individual taste. The tour-stops for lunch are at local
self-service cafeterias. It is not appropriate to make
your lunch from the hotel's breakfast food. Instruct
the group to exercise caution with their diet when traveling
to the Middle East. A good rule of thumb...if you can
peel it, or if it's cooked, you may eat it! In Israel
the water is relatively safe to drink in most areas.
However, you may prefer to purchase bottled water or
carbonated sodas. ŅKosherÓ food (conforming to Jewish
dietary laws - basically: no pork or shellfish and no
mixing meat and milk) is the rule in most hotels.
Tips
The gratuities collected by the Tour Leader will cover
bellboys at the airports and hotels, hotel dinning room
staff, tour guide and drivers. Tips are based on standard
tipping and will be collected by you on the first night.
Please have the tip money ready in an envelope in small
bills. If you ask for a special favor of a maid or porter,
you should tip these persons as you would at home.
Gratuities distribution
on tour: Collect a total of tips in USD from
each tour member. The tour members will be notified
in their final documents of the procedure. They will
be asked to bring small bills, which will be collected
on the first night on the tour. The standard acceptable
tipping is as follows:
Guide $4 US per person per day
Driver $2 US per person per day
Hotels $1 US per person per day dinning room only at
the last night you leave the hotel.
Give the bellboys around 25 shequels when you leave
the hotel. You should put the money in an envelope (with
a thank you card signed by each tour member). One should
be given to the guide and one to the driver. Someone
should say a few thank you words when you present the
envelope to them.
